The history of Isfahan Chocolate:
Nowadays, in developed countries, it is recommended to use low fat, sugar free, low salt and low calorie food to keep healthy and spread using healthy food as a habit in the most societies. The majority of energetic food contains sugar, one of the important things can be considered is sugar free and dietetic food.
Isfahan Chocolate Company, is one of the pioneers in this industry which succeeded to produce a set of variety sugar free productions as ” Kamvar” trade mark after a lot of researching in research & development ( R&D ) unit of company in 1996 .
In 2006, R&D unit of Isfahan Chocolate Company (” Kamvar“) recognized Stevia in Iran for the first time. After a lot of researches , the company could find Its profits and took a new step in producing sugar free and dietetic products in Iran .This company got license from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) for producing sugar free and dietetic products by using of purified powder that called ” Stevioside ” which is 300 times sweeter than sugar ( Sucrose ) . This powder has natural taste and smell like sugar. It is useful for all people, diabetics, Phenylketonuria (PKU), high blood pressure and fat persons.

Research & Development unit (R&D)
In 1992 , Isfahan chocolate company began to produce some kinds of toffee , candy , chocolate as the first producer of candy and chocolate in Isfahan . the main goal of this company was progress and creation in the field of candy and chocolate due to society ‘s needs in Iran .
In 1994, after a lot of research and working professional experts in R&D unit, we succeeded to produce sugar free products to keep people healthy and issue healthy food culture in society. After three years, we got license and certificate from Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) and other related organizations for different sugar free products as ” Kamvar ” trade mark . Studying hard in R&D unit in this company resulted in producing sugar free products with natural sweetener ( stevia ) for the first time in Iran . Also, this company got patent for sugar free Poolaki ( candy flake ) , natural Poolaki ( in different flavors ) , biscuit without natural sugar , Sesame pudding without sugar , sugar without natural sugar with stevia juice .In 2007 , Kamvar company got R&D certificate from Ministry of Industries and Mines of Iran . In 2009, got R&D permission from Ministry of Industries and Mines of Iran. With developments in food industry and to compete with global market , Kamvar ‘s research and development ( R & D ) unit , works with experts , experienced and skillful persons as heart of organization .
Today, R & D unit plays an important role in food industry because research , is one of the effective and dynamic factors in a productive part that will cause to improve quality and economic growth as well as competing in global markets .
Some of R&D activities are : innovation in raw materials and new products, formulation of new product, improve previous products as well as improving their qualities to make longer expiration date , improve production technology , cooperate with foreign companies , request samples from other countries , clinical research on findings and doing laboratory tests .
Other R&D activities are:
- Translating scientific books and foreign articles from scientific reliable sites.
- Producing samples in laboratory scale.
- Doing physical , chemical and microbial tests on samples .
- Publishing different articles on professional domestic and foreign magazines .
- Cooperating with scientific and research centers of diabetes in Tehran.
- Cooperating with scientific and research centers of diabetes.
- Academic and administrative cooperation with different universities for doing some research.
- Negotiating with advanced laboratories all over the world to access laboratory’s modern methods.
- Cooperating with standards and industrial research center to reconsider and codify food standards ( especially sugar free products ) .
- Cooperating with specialized , domestic , food industry magazines ( ” Khoosheh ” , ” Khornush ” ) .
- Presenting paper in a national conference about “safety food and beverage” at medical sciences and health services of Mazandaran university, on 12th and 13th October in 2010.
- Cooperating with Iran’s industry food experts.
- Participating at important medicine congresses ( Endocrinology and Metabolism congress and Endothelium congress ) .
- Taking part at foreign major exhibitions to achieve global new standards in the field of dietetic and sugar free products.
Base on all things that we mentioned above, Kamvar ‘s research and development unit , is one of the best and active R&D units all over the country . Getting award as the highest rank of R&D from Ministry of Industries and Mines of Iran , is the best evidence of this issue .
- The highest rank for food industry from Food and drug Administration for five years.
- The best unit in the country with grade A from The Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) in 2012 and 2016.
- Choosing natural sugar as the best product in the country from Ministry of Industries and Mines of Iran in 2009.
Future researches :
- Producing functional food.
- Making wealthy and rich products to improve lack of vitamins and minerals in persons .
- studying on all kinds of Emulsifiers and resins in products.
- Eliminating chemical preservatives, using natural and herbal preservatives in our products to make longer expiration date .
- Studying on how to use other natural sweeteners.
At last , our final goal in Kamvar ‘s R&D is improving our products and increasing variety sugar free products to keep all people healthy . Soon , we will observe Kamvar’s new products on the markets .
